Mission & Overview
Finding stable, independent housing during community reentry shouldn't be an impossible hurdle. At Denver Second Chance Housing (operated by Pets Welcome Extended Stay), we provide clean, fully furnished, long-term lodging in the Denver Metro area. Unlike traditional apartment complexes, our management team works directly with justice-involved individuals, registered citizens, and reentry advocates to provide a streamlined path to stable housing. We do not utilize automated background check systems that result in automatic denials. Every application is reviewed individually by a human being.
Fully Inclusive Housing Policy
We are a fully inclusive second-chance housing provider. We explicitly accept and work with individuals navigating the following background challenges:
- Felony Convictions: We accept individuals with various felony backgrounds who are committed to stable, independent living.
- Registered Sex Offenses: We provide compliant housing options for registered citizens. We are fully aware of Colorado sex offender residency requirements and work to ensure eligible placement.
- Parole & Probation: We welcome individuals currently under state, federal, or county supervision.
Rental Requirements
To maintain a safe, quiet, and stable environment for all residents, applicants must strictly meet the following baseline requirements:
- Income Minimum: Applicants must have a verifiable income of at least $24.00 per hour (or approximately $4,000 per month).
- Income Verification: You must provide proof of stable employment, or a qualified co-signer, or official organizational funding upon application.
- In-Person Screening: To ensure the safety of our community, we do not offer online applications. All residents must complete an in-person intake screening prior to moving in
Information for Case Managers
We value our partnership with Colorado reentry organizations, transitional programs, and judicial oversight officers. We coordinate directly with parole and probation officers to verify compliance with local residency restrictions.
